Cocoricoooo

How the French do milk. Have I mentioned they don't refrigerate it in the store?
Bonjour à tous!
I was all alone last weekend, and this weekend the apartment is full to the brim. Easter weekend means all 4 children are home (when I say children I mean my hosts' grown sons and daughters). It's great, dinner didn't start until 10pm last night and we sat around talking for quite some time. Well, they talked, I listened or insisted that I understood and that it was not necessary to slow down or explain themselves.

Two nights ago I went to see Cyrano de Bergerac at the MC2 (Culture House) and it was fantastic! My host family had been so incredibly excited about me going and seeing the play that we had talked over the plot multiple times at dinner, we watched the Depardieu movie together, and they've been reciting the nose tirade constantly. So I was very happy to report back to them that the play was very well done and that I understood the words for the most part. It's a play done in verse, so a little harder to follow, but with their help it was a lot easier. The version done at the MC2 was really great- set in (what I'm fairly certain was) a psychiatric hospital. The set and decor were super minimalist and the lighting quite stark and florescent. This made for a quiet, focused environment where I could really just concentrate on the words and how they were saying them, instead of being distracted by the ornate costumes and detailed backdrops. "Et à la fin de l'envoie, je touche."
