Like I mentioned yesterday, we went to the Louvre last night. It was gorgeous as always (it's hard to not overuse that word there). And me being both an art history and French geek, went a little crazy over it. I can't help it, it's my dream come true. There was a guided tour and while it was short, our guide gave us a nice overview of the museum. I was sad when my friends didn't want to stay behind with me, but I'll be spending plenty of time there. My art history course says in the description that "a number of your classes will be taking place at the Louvre." So, basically all I could ever ask for in a class.

Nike of Somathrace or The Winged Victory- one of my absolute favorites. |
And on request from my mother, here are some pictures of my view and neighborhood. The building I live in is ornate and beautiful, but the one I see is not as much. I look directly into some guy's apartment, about my age. I feel we should bond in some way, or meet. Instead we close our blinds and politely don't interact. I forgot to take pictures of my building, but I know a friend has some. I'll get her to send them to me.

More from strolling in my neighborhood |
And this afternoon, after what I would deem as a rather underwhelming visit to a "chocolate museum," our little group headed to Opéra Garnier. You will recognize this from a little show known as
Phantom of the Opera. It's beautiful of course and hard not to stare at. What's even more exciting is that we have tickets to a show here in October. Should be amazing.

Overall, a good visit. It wasn't guided, but I was just happy to see it again. After that, I headed home with my friend Megan to show her my "apartment" and my neighborhood. We strolled along the Seine and ate crepes on the Trocadero. We sat in the Champs de Mars and watched tourists and the tower standing above it all. Then to wine and coffee at a café chalk-full of very loud Americans. It was nice though. A relatively quite night with a good friend. Here's proof:
