This past week, I also went to the Chartreuse distillery! The regional liqueur, known primarily for its color outside of the area, is produced by monks in the Chartreuse mountains. But since the monks live in complete silence, there's a distillery for normal people to go and see how this specialty is made. We went, got a history lesson, a tour of the cellar (one of the largest in Europe), and a free tasting.
