Château de Vizille |
Friday, I started the morning with an 8am class. Not a time I'm a fan of...but I somehow make it there (mostly on time). After class I went with a friend to a café in town (where I think they're starting to recognize us). The woman working there was so nice, complemented us on our French, and even invited us to an event at the café that night. I stayed long after my friend to read in the warmth. A few chapters later, I left the café to head back over to campus for another outing with our professor. He brought some of us out to Vizille, where there's a château and the Musée de la Révolution Française. I loved the museum- it was super interesting and one of my favorite paintings (below) was there! I had no idea and had a moment in the gallery when I saw it. My fellow students are slowly coming to understand my level of art nerd. And the grounds outside the château were huge! I would have loved to walk around for hours, but we were freezing. I'm determined to go back on a warm spring day to picnic and frolic through the park.

Creeks and ponds and swans and bridges |
We returned to Grenoble via a little village. It is higher up in the hills, so it was still covered in snow. We saw the chapel and a little bit of the hilly area. We got back to town just as it was getting dark, so I walked home to change just before going over to a friends for dinner.
