La Vie Grenobloise

My life here in Grenoble has started to develop a routine. I enjoy my schedule, for the most part, because I have a lot of free time. Free time during which I use to visit museums in town, drink lots of coffee before classes (and beer after) at cafés all over town, read (and find good spots to read), make friends, people watch, and just wander. I really love slowly making my way through town. It's almost therapeutic. Walking, hearing, smelling, seeing the city and discovering little alleyways or shortcuts along the way. And the routine is nice, because I start recognizing places and people. I like understanding where I am, so I can focus on learning more about the area and not just worry about how I'm going to get home every time I'm lost.

At the moment, my life isn't particularly exciting. That's why no pictures today, my apologies. My classes are interesting, but nothing spectacular yet. Everyone I know is getting sick. Me, I'm trying to resist. And by resist, I mean eating every orange in sight and refusing to admit defeat. I am reading a really interesting book though that a friend lent me. Not in French, but sometimes I just really need to read in English. I can never just sit down and relax with a French novel. Even though I understand, it's still work to sift through the pages of foreign language. So it's a special treat when I can just read and actually understand everything I'm seeing.

I've put some pictures of the sheep from Saturday below, so continue if you so wish. Just click on the "See More" below. These are for you Ian:

The quality is, well, terrible, but here the "bête" that took over the kitchen table on Saturday night. And some photos of the work of my host father.
