Crypte Saint Laurent

Les vitraux
This afternoon all the Seattle students went to the Crypte Saint Laurent (or St. Lawrence Crypt). It was very interesting- the ruins of a crypt and the multiple churches that have been built on this sight. There was a great video explaining the Roman and Celtic history of the area and how each civilization changed and shaped this region and specifically Grenoble. We spent quite a long time there, and after went for tea. We went to a place our professor knows and as it turns out, it's owned by a Scottish woman and is a kind of "English" café. They have book clubs, meetings and lots of things in English. I was a fan of the shelves of books lining the walls. I don't want to be around too much English, but that's definitely a good 'go-to' to have when I need to escape France for an hour or two.
The ruins- filled with skeletons
Not sure if this was modern graffiti- either way, still pretty cool
