Opéra Bastille

Don Quichotte à l'Opéra Bastille
On Monday night, our program got a real treat: a trip to the opera house to see a ballet. Don Quixote to be exact, and it was so beautiful. I've always found ballerinas to be amazingly graceful but I often forget what a physical feat they're so easily displaying. Both the male and female dancers just blow my mind. I thought it was a beautifully done representation of this classic story. It was an exciting Monday night, getting to dress up a little and go be cultured for a while. We were in the super nosebleeds, but could still see and hear everything fine. I just had a hard time with the bizarre angle.

That afternoon I had class in the Louvre (art history) and of course it would be the week where we're studying Poussin. My professor made me and my partner present Poussin. I thought she was joking when she said it, but nope. We just did our whole JOP presentation and it seemed to go over quite well with the class. I love when we go to the Louvre together. It's one thing to spend hours there alone or with a friends, but going in a class with an outrageously educated and hilarious professor is the best. I always leave those class periods with 5 more obscure rooms I'm dying to share with my next visitor.
